| Therapeutic Modalities used at PFC |
| Spinal Adjustments (manipulation) |
The purpose of adjusting the spine is to restore joint movement and to reduce nerve interference. Adjusting is done by applying a gentle, controlled force into joints that have become restricted in their movement. Adjusting the spinal joints restores proper movement in the spine; which, in turn, allows for pain relief and optimal health to the body. Manual hands-on adjustments are done via diversified technique, ABC technique, Flexion-Distraction and Thompson drop-table. |
Extremity Adjustments (manipulation) | The same as above, but for elbows, wrists, hands, feet, knees, hips, cranial bones and the temporalmandibular joint (TMJ). |
Pediatric & Pregnant Adjustments | The adjustment technique is different to ensure safe, effective treatment and to makes sure both mom and baby (of course Dad too) are completely comfortable with treatment. |
| Myofascial Release | Manual muscle work the doctor will perform to help rid the muscular 'knots', scar tissue and spasm in the body. |
| Diathermy | Diathermy is, simply 'deep heat'. Diathermy allows us to treat deeper tissues with heat, rather than just heating the skin (like conventional hot-packs). |
| Therapeutic Exercise | Specifically tailored, low-impact exercises used to restore strength to atrophied (weak) muscles and to regain mobility. |
